Assoc Prof Rossen Roussev MD, PhD

He acquired his Master’s Degree in Medicine at the Medical Academy, Sofia. Specialist in neurology since 1993. He was conferred the scientific degree of PhD after defending a dissertation thesis in the field of clinical neurophysiology in 1998. From 1989 to 2005, he was an assistant professor in neurology and a medical specialist in the Clinic of Neurology at MU-Pleven. He attended speciality trainings in electromyography at Uppsala University Hospital – Sweden and the University Hospitals of Ljubljana, Maastricht, Debrecen and Venice. For over 18 years, he has been a consultant in neurology and clinical neurophysiology at Ibn Sina University Hospital for Neurosurgery and Neurology, Sabah Hospital Complex, Kuwait. In 2022, he was elected Associate Professor of Neurology at MU-Pleven. A distinguished researcher, recognized in the country and abroad, in the field of diagnostics and treatment of neuromuscular diseases. Assoc. Prof. Rusev has more than 35 scientific publications in renowned scientific journals abroad, cited over 250 times abroad. A lecturer respected by students and specialists, author of a monograph and a chapter in neurology textbook.

Special interests in neuromuscular diseases, myasthenia gravis, motor neuron disease, polyneuropathies, headache, epilepsy. Rich professional experience in clinical electromyography, electroencephalography and evoked potentials.
