Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Shamov, PhD

He graduated from Pleven Medical University in 1996. He specialized in neurosurgery at the Clinics in Neurosurgery at Pleven Medical University and Sofia Medical University. In 2003, he acquired the speciality of Neurosurgery. In 2011, he defended his PhD thesis in Neurosurgery. In the period 2003 - 2012, he worked as a neurosurgeon in the Clinic in Neurosurgery at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) Sofia. From 2012 to 2016, he worked as a consultant in Neurosurgery at Jaber Al Ahmad Hospital, Kuwait City. Since 2017, he has been elected an associate professor at the Clinic in Neurosurgery at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) Sofia. Completed a full cycle of training at Eurospine and in 2016 he acquired the European Spine Diploma. Multiple speciality trainings in Austria, Norway, France, Greece, Turkey, Dubai and Kuwait. He has publications and is a reviewer of research papers in journals published in USA, Europe, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Member of Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgery, Kuwait Branch of Walter Dendy Neurosurgery Society, European Society of Neurosurgery and Malta Medical Association.

Special interests in interventional pain treatment. Extensive professional experience in nerve blocks under ultrasound control of the spine, peripheral nerves of the limbs and botulinum toxin injection.
