Dr. Sonya Beleva

She completed higher medical education in 1982 at the Higher Medical Institute – Sofia. In 1988, she acquired a speciality in internal medicine from the Medical Academy – Sofia, and in 1992 a second speciality in cardiology from the Higher Medical Institute – Sofia. Dr. Beleva has a professional qualification in echocardiography, fundamental and expert level, received at MU-Sofia. She has more than 40 years of experience in the field of inpatient and outpatient care. From 1982 to 1983, she worked as a school doctor, then she was a doctor in the Ward of Internal Medicine at Sveta Petka Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment Vidin (1983-1989), a cardiologist in the intensive care unit (1989-2001) and a cardiologist in the Ward of Cardiology and Rheumatology (2001- 2014). In the period 2014-2020, she was the head of the Ward of Cardiology at Sveta Petka Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment Vidin. Since the foundation of Medica 2005 Medical Center she has been working as a cardiologist in the outpatient care.

Special interests in heart failure treatment, cardiac emergencies, heart rhythm disorders, echocardiography.
